According to the Law 75/2013 of 12 September it is up to the parish assembly:

• Approve the options of the plan and the budget proposal, as well as its revisions;
• Assess inventory of assets, rights and equity instruments and their evaluation, as well as to evaluate and vote the accounts ' reporting documents;
• Authorize the town board to contract loans and to make credit facilities;
• Approve the rates and the prices of the Parish and to set a respective value;
• To authorize the acquisition, alienation or encumbrance of movable assets with a value exceeding 145.500 € and set its general terms and conditions, and may deternimar recourse to public auction;
• To approve the external regulations;
• Authorise the conclusion of contracts for the delegation of powers and implementing arrangements between the parish council and the municipal council, as well as the relevant resolution and, in the case of contracts for the delegation of powers, their revocation;
• Authorise the signing of protocols for the delegation of administrative tasks between the parish council and residents ' organisations;
• Authorize the celebration of protocols with public institutions, private individuals and cooperatives that develop their activity in the territorial district of the parish, particularly as regards the equipment concerned is the property of the parish and safeguard its use by the local community;
• Authorize the county to establish forms of cooperation with public or private entities;
• Authorize the parish to constitute the associations of the parish;
• To approve the map of the staff of the parish;
• To approve the establishment and reorganisation of the services of the parish;
• Authorize acelebração protocols of twinning, friendship, co-operation or partnership between parishes with affinities, both at the level of their denominations, the patron of the parish, or to other characteristics of indole cultural, economic, historic or geographic.

It is also incumbent to the parish assembly:
• To accept donations, legacies and inheritances to the benefit of inventory;
• To establish the general standards of the administration of the patrimony of the parish or under their jurisdiction;
• Meet and take a position on final reports resulting from actions oversight or audits performed on the activity of bodies and services of the parish;
• Appreciate, in each of the ordinary sessions, a written notice of the president of the parish council about its activities and financial situation of the parish;
• Discuss, at the request of any of the holders of the right of opposition, the report referred to in the Statute of the Right of Opposition;
• Approve a local referendum;
• Appreciate the refusal to provide any information or refusal of delivery of documents by the parish council or of its members, which constitute an obstacle to the realization of follow-up actions and monitoring;
• Monitor and supervise the activities of the parish council;
• Able to speak and deliberate on all the affairs aimed at the achievement of the tasks of the freguesuia;
• Able to speak and deliberate on all matters of interest to the Parish, on its own initiative or upon request of the parish council;
• Exercise other powers conferred by law.
